Future retirement plans – A1 English Reading Test

I am going to retire next year, and I am very happy about it. I want to spend more time with my family because my children live in another city. I’m going to visit them very often, and I hope I will see my grandchildren every week. I would also like to learn how to cook better because I never have time now. When I retire, I think my life will be more relaxed.

After I retire, I would like to travel. My wife and I love going to new places, so we are going to visit different countries in Europe. We are going to start with Italy because we have friends there. I hope the weather will be good because we want to walk a lot and see old towns and museums. Travelling will definitely be a lot of fun when we don’t have to work.

I’m not going to travel very much after I retire. I like staying at home, so I’d like to enjoy my free time there. I have a small garden, and I love working in it. I’m going to grow fruit and vegetables. I’d like to cook with vegetables from my garden. I also hope I will have more time to read books and watch films.

I love my job and being active, so when I retire, I’d like to stay busy doing different things. I’m going to spend more time exercising to stay healthy, and I’m going to help at the sports centre in my town. I also love playing the guitar, but I’m very bad at it because I don’t have time now, so I’m going to take lessons and practise more.
